By using the Modify Layout toolbar, you can quickly switch on tool windows, should you not wish to do this by using the View > Tool Windows menu.
If this toolbar is not displayed, use the View > Toolbars > Modify Layout command.
The following table lists the buttons which are available by default on the toolbar.
Making tool windows appear
The first buttons on the toolbar are each linked to a tool window. Click a button to have its corresponding tool window displayed. When the tool window is on display, this button appears clicked. You can recognize this status by the button's colored background.

Use the File Explorer tool window to quickly load images which are located on your hard disk or on other storage media. |

The Gallery tool window shows thumbnails of all the loaded documents, thus supplying you with a quick visual overview. |

|
Using the Image Navigator tool window makes it easy to determine which segment of the image you want to have displayed in the image window. |
|
|
The Properties tool window will show you the available information on a loaded document. |
|
|
Click the arrow next to the Tool Window button to open a list of all available tool windows. |
Layouts and tool windows
Tool windows belong to the layout. For this reason you can use different tool windows in every layout. Changes in the layout will be automatically saved when you close your software.
Hiding a tool window
Note: With the buttons on the Modify Layout toolbar you can make a tool window appear, but you can't make it disappear. To close a tool window, click the button with a cross 
in the tool window's header.
