Tool Windows

Click the arrow next to the Tool Window button to open a list of all available tool windows. You can find this button on the View toolbar.

Every tool window is identified by its own icon. The icons of the currently displayed tool windows will appear clicked. You can recognize this status by the icon's background color.

Saving the tool windows that are on display

Note: Tool windows belong to the layout. For this reason you can use different tool windows in every layout. Changes in the layout will be automatically saved when you close your software.

Making a tool window appear/disappear

There are several ways in which you can open a list of all existing tool windows.

1.Use the commands of the View > Tool windows menu.

2.Use the Tool Window button that you will find either on the View toolbar, or on the Modify Layout toolbar.

3.To open a context menu containing a list of the tool windows, rightclick any tool window's header.

Making tool windows appear

To make a tool window appear, open the list of all available tool windows, and select the desired tool windows in it.

Hiding tool windows

You can close a tool window by clicking the button with the cross . You can find this button in the tool window's header.
