Options - Count and Measure - Classification |

With an automatic image analysis, objects can be classified according to their belonging to a phase, or on the basis of selected measurement parameters. Example: In your image there are large and small objects with the same intensity. You'd like to know how many large and how many small objects, your image contains. In this case define one single phase and select Area as measurement parameter. Your software sorts each object into the correct class. Use the Options > Count and Measure > Classification dialog box to define a new classification scheme, or to select and/or to edit, a classification scheme that already exists. Description of the function groupsSee also Overview - Options - Count and Measure Overview - Automatic image analysis Current classificationIn the Current classification group, you can set up, and delete, new classification schemes, as well as select schemes that already exist. You can recognize the classification scheme that has currently been selected, by the blue check next to its name. Note: A classification scheme won't be automatically applied when you select it. Click the Count and Measure button, located in the Count and Measure tool window, to apply the selected classification scheme. Alternatively, you can click the Count and Measure button in the dialog box in which you define the classification scheme to apply the classification scheme. New classificationClick the New Classification Select the New 'One parameter' Classification... entry to classify the objects in the image based on one single selected parameter. You can find more information on the Define 'One parameter' Classification dialog box here. Select the New 'Two parameter' Classification... entry to classify the objects in the image based on two selected parameters. An example is an image that contains bright and dark objects of differing sizes. You can define a classification scheme that classifies the objects by intensity and size at the same time. You can find more information on the Define 'Two parameters' Classification dialog box here. The new classification scheme is added to the list. It is automatically selected. Deleting the classificationClick the Delete Classification Classification schemes are saved together with the other settings for the object analysis. Even when you delete a classification scheme here, it will be once more loaded, when you load the corresponding set of settings. To save or load settings, open the Options > Count and Measure > General dialog box. Another possibility to restore a deleted classification scheme is to load an image that has been analyzed using this classification scheme. In the Options > Count and Measure > Classification dialog box, click the Get from Active Image button. Classifying by phaseThe Phase classification scheme is predefined and can't be edited or deleted. The Phase classification scheme is derived from the current threshold value settings. The number of classes corresponds to the number of defined phases. The names of the phases and the colors assigned to them are automatically adopted by the classification scheme. This classification scheme is automatically used if you haven't defined a classification scheme of your own. Defining the classificationClick the Define Classification button to edit the selected classification scheme. When the preset classification scheme Phase has been chosen, the button appears clicked. Note: Non-classified objects, that's to say, objects that the classification scheme doesn't include, are cross hatched. Get from Active ImageYou have the possibility to reconstruct a classification scheme that has once been used for an image, from the image, at any time. This is even still possible, when the classification scheme has in the meantime been deleted from the Options > Count and Measure > Classification dialog box, or the image has been analyzed with another software version. Restoring a classification schemeClick the Get from Active Image button to load the classification scheme that was used for the analysis of the current image. This button will only be active, when currently an image, on which an object analysis has already been performed, is active in the document group. The classification scheme that was used for the analysis of the active image will be loaded into the Current classification list. You can edit this classification scheme further, or use it for other object analyses on other images. Should the active image's classification scheme already be listed in the dialog box, this button will have no effect. Should there already be a classification scheme with the same name, that however, contains other values than the active image's classification scheme, you will be able to overwrite the existing classification scheme, or rename it. 5812 28112014 |
