Use the measurement functions Rectangle and Rotated Rectangle to measure the area and perimeter of a rectangle on an image. The rectangle can be arbitrarily oriented. You can find this measurement function e.g., in the Measure menu, or as a button on the Measurement toolbar. In the Select Measurements dialog box, you can select additional measurement parameters for 2D objects, or delete parameters that don't interest you. See also Measuring a rectangle1.Load the image you want to measure into the document group. 2.Select the Rectangle measurement function. To do so, display, e.g, the Measurement toolbar. To do so, use the View > Toolbars > Measurement command. Click the Rectangle •Your software will automatically switch to the measurement mode. 3.Drag the rectangle to the size you want by keeping the left mouse button depressed. Click with the left mouse button once to confirm the rectangle's size. 4.Keep the [Shift] key pressed while you define the rectangle if you want to define a square. •The measured 2D object will be displayed in the image. •The results will be listed in the Measurement and ROI tool window. Measuring a rectangle that is oriented arbitrarily1.Select the Rotated Rectangle 2.First, define one side of the rectangle. To do so, leftclick on two adjacent corners of the rectangle. 3.Then move the mouse in order to determine the rectangle's height. 4.Click with the left mouse button when you are satisfied with the definition of the rectangle. Processing an existing measurement objectYou can correct the position of a measurement object at any time. 1.Move the whole rectangle with the left mouse button depressed. 2.Rotate the rectangle by one vertex. 3.Select the rectangle. 4.One of the vertices will be displayed as a small circle. You can rotate the rectangle around this vertex. The other vertices are normal marker points. •Move the pointer onto a marker. Then, while keeping your left mouse button depressed, move the marker to rotate the rectangle and to change its size. 3923 22042013 |
