Description of dialog box

Select the drive and directory in which you want to save this document in the Save in list.

The File name field shows the name of the document. For documents that have already been loaded, or previously saved, this is the file name. With new documents, it is the name of the document window. You can adopt this name or give the file another name.

In the Acquisition Settings > Document Name dialog box, you can set a name for your software to give to the images when they're acquired. You can find step by step instructions to adjust automatically created image names here.

The Save as type list is context-sensitive. It is different for every type of document. It contains all the file formats in which the active document can be saved. Additional information, especially on image file formats, can be found in the chapters that follow.

The Compression field shows which compression method will be used when the image is saved. With image file formats that don't allow for compression e.g., BMP, the field will remain empty. Click the Options... button to change the active compression method.

Image file formats

For the image file formats VSI, TIF, JPEG and JPEG 2000, there are also additional preferences that should be taken into account when saving images. Click the Options... button if you want to see these settings or change them.

You can also play back a time stack just as you would an AVI. Select the AVI Video File (*.avi) entry in the File Type list. Click the Options... button to access more settings for saving an AVI.
