Save Image Options - VSI |
|
Use the VSI tab located in the Save Image Options dialog box to define the compression method for the VSI image file format. These options will then be taken into account every time you save images in VSI format. Opening the dialog boxSelect the File > Save As... command. Select the Virtual Slide Image (*.vsi) image file format and click the Options... button . Description of dialog boxSelecting the compression parametersSelect a compression method from the Compression list. Entering a high value in the Quality field will ensure that your images are of high quality. Select the None entry if the image file should not be compressed at all. Select the JPEG lossless option to compress the image file without loss of quality. In this case, you will not lose any image information. However, the extent to which the file size can be reduced strongly depends on the image itself. Select the JPEG lossless entry to use the JPEG 2000 compression method. The JP2 method was developed to make so-called Streaming possible. Streaming is used, for instance, when images are loaded in the Internet and results in an image being built up progressively. This means that an image will be saved in the file in different resolutions. Select the JPEG entry to use the JPEG compression method. In the Quality field, enter, for example, the value 90 for using a relatively low compression rate and maintaining a high image quality of 90%. When you use these settings the image size will be considerably reduced to 1/12 of the image size of the uncompressed image. 1006 20092012 |
