1.Activate the image document in the document group.

2.Set the image up on your monitor exactly as you want to copy it. You can change the way an image appears on your monitor in several different ways. Here are a few examples:

3.Use the Adjust Display tool window to change the image contrast. You can find more information on this tool window here.

4.Use the Image Navigator tool window to display only a segment of the image in the image window. You can find more information on this tool window here.

5.Use the View > Scale Bar command to have a scale bar displayed in the image window. You can find more information on the scale bar here.

3.Use the Edit > Copy Display to Clipboard command.

4.The segment of the image on display in the image window will then be located in the clipboard.

What can you do with the image in the clipboard?

1.You can create a new image from the image in the clipboard. To do this, use the Edit > Paste As > New Image command.

2.You can insert the segment you've copied into another application program, e.g. MS-Word. To do so, use the [Ctrl + V] shortcut.

3.You can insert the image segment you've copied into another image as an image layer. In this way, you create a multi-layer image. To do this, use the Edit > Paste As > New Layer command.

Drawing and measurement objects

Drawing and measurement objects will be burnt into the image. They will then become a part of the image in the clipboard. All of the image data lying under the drawing or measurement objects will then have been overwritten. You will then no longer be able to display drawing or measurement objects, and image data, separately.

Scale bar and info stamp

You can display a scale bar and an info stamp in the image. Both the scale bar and the info stamp will also be burnt into the image.

Additional information

Images you have acquired with your software always contain a certain amount of additional data. For example, the image calibration. This additional information will be lost when you copy to the clipboard.

Appearance of the image on your monitor

The image segment will always be copied to the clipboard exactly as it appears at that moment on the monitor.

Therefore, if you have, for example, used the Image > Adjust Display command, to alter the onscreen display, the image will be copied to the clipboard with the altered settings.
