Use the View > Scale Bar command or the [Shift + F4] keyboard shortcut to make the scale bar appear or disappear in the image window. This preference is a global preference valid for all loaded images. You cannot have the scale bar shown only for certain images. Characteristics of the scale barThe scale bar is part of the image window and not of the image. This has certain consequences: 1.The scale bar remains visible and readable no matter which zoom factor you choose. The position in which the scale bar is located, e.g., on the bottom right of the image window, will always remain the same, only its length will vary, in accordance with the current zoom factor. 2.The scale bar will not be pasted to the clipboard together with an image segment. Therefore, it will also not be displayed in the other application program. You can, however, burn the scale bar into the image. To do so, use the Image > Burn In Info command. Please note, however, that by burning it into the image, you will lose image information. 3.You cannot edit the scale bar with the tools in the Drawings toolbar, for instance to change its background color. Should you want to change the scale bar's appearance, use the Tools > Options... command. There you will find several options with which you can change the scale bar's appearance.
