Import Images

Use the Acquire > Twain > Import Images... command to import images via the TWAIN interface. This command will open a dialog box in which you can set various device parameters for the import of the image. The appearance and function of the dialog boxes depend on the TWAIN driver you use and can differ widely from device to device.

More detailed information can be obtained from your TWAIN device's manual.

Note: Importing an image via the TWAIN interface is a completely different process to the various acquisition processes that your software makes available. For this reason, settings in the Camera Control tool window, have no affect on the importing of an image via the TWAIN interface.

Before using the command

Install the TWAIN driver's software and connect the device to your PC.

In your software, select the driver for the device from which you want to import images. To do this use the Acquire > Twain > Select Input... command.

After the image import

An image you import via the TWAIN interface, is either not calibrated, or it's arbitrarily calibrated. To have the image retroactively calibrated, use the Image > Calibrate Image... command. Please note, that in this case you will need to have a known linear distance in the image.
