TWAIN stands for "Tool Without Any Interesting Name". TWAIN is a standardized software interface between software programs and the hardware you use to acquire images, for example, scanners. Your software offers you a TWAIN interface. You can use this TWAIN interface to import images from a variety of devices, without having to make use of a special scanning software. Note: You do not need the TWAIN interface to activate digital cameras that your software explicitly supports. These cameras will be activated and read out directly by your software. See also 00173 |
