It is possible to synchronize image windows. When using the synchronization process, you go to one image document and select the image segment that interests you, and that you want to have displayed on your monitor. Your software will then automatically display the same segment in the other synchronized image windows. The synchronization process is especially useful when you want to compare several images. Comparing two images with each other Comparing several sections of an image with high resolution Comparing two images with each other1.Load the images, for instance, "Image01" and "Image02", that you wish to compare with each other. 2.Activate the Window toolbar. To do this, use, e.g., the View > Toolbars > Window command. 3.Display both images simultaneously on your monitor. 4.Use, for instance, the Window > Split/Unsplit > Document Group (Bottom) command, to set up a new document group below the current one. In the newly set up document group the active image will automatically be displayed, in this case "Image02". 4.Synchronize all of the image windows. To do this, click the Synchronize Image Windows 5.The function of the Synchronize Image Windows button changes to Stop Synchronization 6.Image windows that are synchronized have this symbol 5.Increase or reduce the size of one of the images on the monitor. 6.You will find more information on increasing or reducing the size of an image in an image window here. 7.The zoom factor of all of the synchronized images will also be changed. 6.Use the Image Navigator tool window, to display the image segment, in e.g., "Image01," that interests you. If necessary, use the View > Tool Windows > Image Navigator command to show the tool window. 7.You will find more information on selecting an image segment here. 8.All of the image windows that are synchronized, now automatically show the same image segment. 7.Keeping the left mouse button depressed, move the segment that is on display, in the Image Navigator tool window. 8.The segments will be correspondingly moved in all of the synchronized image windows as well. 8.Cancel the synchronization. To do so, click the Stop Synchronization Comparing several sections of an image with high resolution1.Activate the image with the desired image sections, e.g. "SAMPLE IMAGE". 2.Select the Window > New Window command. 3.A new image window will be created in the document group. Its title is "SAMPLE IMAGE:2". 3.Activate the "SAMPLE IMAGE:2" image window. To do this, click the document window's title once, in the document bar. 4.Use the Window > Split/Unsplit > Document Group (Right) command. •This command creates a new document group to the right of the current document group. The document group already contains the "SAMPLE IMAGE:2" image. 5.Activate the "SAMPLE IMAGE:1" image window. •You will then see the same image twice, in two image windows located next to each other. •You can then define the zoom factor and the image segment that is to be displayed, individually for each of the image windows. Comparing time stacks1.Load the time stacks, that you wish to compare with each other, for instance, "TimeSeries01" and "TimeSeries02". 2.Activate the Window toolbar. To do this, use, e.g., the View > Toolbars > Window command. 3.Display both time stacks simultaneously on your monitor. 4.Use, for instance, the Window > Split/Unsplit > Document Group (Bottom) command, to set up a new document group below the current one. In the newly set up document group the active image will automatically be displayed, in this case "TimeSeries02". 4.Synchronize all of the image windows. To do this, click the Synchronize Image Windows 5.The function of the Synchronize Image Windows button changes to Stop Synchronization 6.Image windows that are synchronized have this symbol 5.Browse through the "TimeSeries01" time stack. To do so, you move, e.g., the slide control in the navigation bar for time stacks.
6.In the "TimeSeries02" time stack, the same frame will then be shown as in the "TimeSeries01". 6.Cancel the synchronization. To do so, click the Stop Synchronization Comparing time stacks in the "Relative" modeLet's assume you have acquired two time stacks, in which some sort of interesting event took place at different times. You can compare these two time stacks as well. 1.Use the Tools > Options... command and select the Images > Synchronize entry in the tree view. 2.The Synchronize dialog box offers several settings that change the way synchronized image windows behave. 2.Click in the Mode field, next to the t navigation entry. 3.The Mode field then displays a picklist. 3.Choose the Relative entry in the Mode list. 4.Close the dialog box with OK. 5.Load the time stacks, that you wish to compare with each other, for instance, "TimeSeries01" and "TimeSeries02". The event that interests you most can, e.g., be a strong increase in the image intensity, that in the "TimeSeries01" time stack is visible in image 5, and in the "TimeSeries02" time stack, first becomes visible in image 15. 6.Display, separately for each time stack, the frame with the event, in an image window. 7.Synchronize both of the time stacks as described above. 8.Browse through the "TimeSeries01" time stack. To do so, you move, e.g., the slide control in the navigation bar for time stacks.
9.Now, in the "TimeSeries02" time stack, the frame that will be shown corresponds to the frame in the "TimeSeries01" time stack. When the "TimeSeries01" time stack shows frame 10, you will see the frame 20 in the "TimeSeries02" time stack. 9.Cancel the synchronization. To do so, click the Stop Synchronization 00089 02042013 |
