Overview - Menus |
Opening context menusYour software offers you the possibility to call commands via menus at several different places. 1.You will find numerous commands on the menu bar. You will find the menu bar in the usual position, immediately below the program window's title. 2.Numerous context menus can be opened by clicking with the right mouse button. Then different context menus will appear, depending on where you call up the menu on the user interface. 3.Another type of menu is linked to a button on a toolbar. Buttons that open a menu have a small arrow next to their icon to help you recognize them. To open the menu, click this arrow. A typical example is the menu, that you will find next to the Open Main menus and context menusMain menusIn a main menu the commands will always remain the same. The menus listed in your software's menu bar are called main menus. Commands that in a certain context do not make sense, will be displayed in gray, and cannot be accessed. For this reason, the Image > Mode > Grayscale command is not available for a gray-value image, for example. This is why the command is displayed in gray when the active document is a gray-value image. Please note that whole menus can be hidden also. For this reason the Process and Image menus are only displayed when the active document is an image. Context menusThe commands a context menu offers you can, depending on the context, differ. As a rule, you will only be offered the commands that make sense. To open a context menu, rightclick a tool window's header. You can use this context menu to change the position of individual tool windows, or to make them appear or disappear. Using the Transparency command only makes sense where a tool window has been floated, since only in this case will the tool window cover part of the user interface. For this reason you will not find this command in the context menu of a tool window that has not been floated. Configuring context menusThe following list contains some menus that you can configure. To do this, use the Customize > Menu dialog box. Use the Tools > Customization > Start Customize Mode... button to open the dialog box. 00071 07032013 |
