Working with document groups

The document group contains all loaded documents. You will find the document group in the middle of the user interface.

Use either the buttons on the Window toolbar, or the commands in the Window menu, to create new document groups and to arrange them on your monitor.

Setting up new document groups

The setting up of a second document group makes sense when, for example, you want to compare two images on the monitor. Then load an image into one document group and the other image into the newly-set-up document group.

1.Load the two images that you want to compare with each other.

2.Use the Window > Split/Unsplit > Document Group (Right) bb_NewDocumentGroupRight command, to set up a new document group to the right of the current one.

This command is only available when the active document group contains at least two documents.

3.Alternatively you can use the Window > Split/Unsplit > Document Group (Bottom) bb_NewDocumentGroupBottom command, to set up a new document group below the current one.

4.A newly set up document group contains the document that was active when this command was accessed.

Creating an arbitrary arrangement of document groups

Floating a document group

The document group is normally docked at a defined position in the user interface. You can, however, change this position. It makes sense, for example, to release the document group from its docked position to enable you to drag it onto the other screen, if your system is equipped with two monitors.

Prerequisite: You can only release document groups from their docked position in the expert mode.

1.If your system is equipped with two monitors, drag the document group onto the second one.

If your system is not equipped with two monitors, reduce the size of the window for your software. To do this, click in the header of your software on this button bb_restore. You can then alter the size of the program window and shift it.

2.Click the button with the handbb_hand, located on the top right of the document group's header. While keeping the left mouse button depressed, drag your mouse pointer out of the header of the document group.

3.MauszeigerOrdnerDeaktivMauszeigerOrdner The mouse pointer has two modes. The red cross shows you that you cannot drag the document group to the mouse pointer's current position.

3.With the left mouse button depressed, drag the mouse pointer to any position outside your software.

4.A dashed frame shows you where the document group will be moved to if you release the mouse button.

4.Release the left mouse button to confirm the current position of the document group.

5.To dock the document group once again, click on the hand icon again and drag the mouse pointer back to its original position.

6.Alternatively, you can use the Window > Float/Unfloat Document Group command.
