Use this dialog box to have the area that the camera acquires reduced to a user-defined segment and to hide the rest of the image. Only the user-defined image segment is displayed in the image window.
Opening the dialog box
You can open this dialog box, for example via the camera control. In the Camera Control tool window's toolbar, click the Acquisition Settings button. Select the Camera > Clipping entry in the tree view.

Clipping an image segment
1.Reduce the image segment by specifying how many pixels are to be hidden from each image margin. Alternatively, enter concrete values in the Left, Right, Top, and Bottom fields. 2.Confirm the settings with OK. •The clipped image segment is displayed in the image window. You can also reduce the image segment directly in the live-image by using the selection frame.
1.Click the Interactive button. 2.You will then automatically switch to the live-image. 3.A red frame is displayed in the image window. 2.Define the image segment that is to be hidden by dragging the frame's handles. •All image information that is out of the red frame is ignored. All image information that is within the red frame is shown. 3.Click the right mouse button and confirm the input. 4.The Acquisition Settings > Camera > Clipping dialog box opens again. 4.Confirm the selection with OK. •The clipped image segment is displayed in the image window. Note: In the Resolution group in the Camera Control tool window, the resolutions are adjusted to correspond to the values specified in the Clipping dialog box.
The settings in the Clipping dialog box are saved and used for all future acquisition processes.
When you close your software and restart, only the clipped image segment will be displayed.
Setting the default values
The Set As Default button is only available if you have administrator rights. Click the Set As Default button to save the values of the currently displayed image segment as default values.
If you now change the values in the Left, Right, Top, and Bottom fields, and then click the Default button, the values will be reset to the values that were defined with the Set As Default button.
Deactivating clipping
Deactivate Clipping by entering 0 in the Left, Right, Top, and Bottom fields in the Clipping dialog box. Alternatively, select the No Clipping check box.
