bb_arbitrary_distance Measurement Object - Arbitrary Line

Use the Arbitrary Line measurement function to measure the linear distance between two points on an image. You define the linear distance to be measured with two points. You can find the measurement functions, for example, in the Measure menu, or on the Measurement toolbar.

In the Select Measurements dialog box, you can select additional measurement parameters for a line measurement.

Showing and editing auxiliary lines

For the Arbitrary Line measurement function you can display two auxiliary lines. The helper lines stand vertically on the measured distance and help you to align the measured distance exactly with the image structure.

To do this, use the Tools > Options... command. Select the Measurements > Results entry in the tree view. Select the Add helper lines to line measurements check box.

For existing measurement objects you can conceal or display these auxiliary lines at any time and can alter their length. To do that, select the line measured in the image and click your right mouse button to open a context menu. Select one of the commands in the Helper Lines menu.

bb_HorizontalLinebb_VerticalLine Measuring horizontal and vertical lines

Use the Horizontal Line or Vertical Line measurement function, to exclusively measure distances that are horizontally or vertically orientated in the image.
