The Microscope Control toolbar contains buttons for opening and closing the shutter and for changing the display mode. If this toolbar is not displayed, use the View > Toolbars > Microscope Control command.
  
The following table lists some the buttons which are available on the toolbar.

Switching Beam Blanker on

Click this button to deflect the electron beam.

Make the Microscope Control tool window appear.

Switch between the Imaging and Diffraction modes.

Displaying microscope control
The Microscope Control tool window provides access to all the microscope components that can be controlled from your software. Click the Microscope Control button to open the tool window.
When the Microscope Control tool window is on display, this button appears clicked. You can recognize this status by the button's colored background.
Hiding a tool window
Note: You can make the Microscope Control tool window appear by clicking the Microscope Control button but you cannot make it disappear in this way. To close the tool window, click the button with a cross in the tool window's header.
