Description of dialog box

From the Look in list, select the drive and directory with the files you want.

You can load several documents at the same time. To do this, select all of the files that you want by keeping the [Ctrl] key pressed while you click the file names.

With Open you will load all the selected documents. Every document will be allocated its own window in the document group. Click the title of a document to have that document displayed. You can also use the Documents tool window to provide yourself with an overview of all the documents that have been loaded, and to switch backwards and forwards between them.

From the Files of type list, you can select the type of document you want. This is valid independently of the dialog box, i.e., you can also select and load charts in the Open Image dialog box.

The list offers you collective formats that each contain a selection of standard formats in case you do not know the exact file type. Select e.g., the Image Formats file type to obtain a list of all the image file formats that are supported.

You can find an overview of document types that are supported here.

The list offers the All (*.*) entry, in case you want to look at an overview of the contents of a directory (e.g., to search for file formats from other application programs). Then your software offers file formats from other application programs, too.

Note: Your software cannot read files from other application programs such as DOC or XLS files. If you try to load these files, the respective application program e.g. MS Word or MS Excel, will be opened, and the document you have selected loaded into that program.
