Duplicate Image

If you want to copy a complete image, use the Image > Duplicate command. A new image document with the default name Copy of <image name> will be created.

Note: This command physically duplicates all image data. This means that twice as much data has to be kept in the computer's memory.

Alternative approaches

1.If, instead of the whole image, you only wish to copy a segment of the image, you should use the Edit > Paste As > New Image command. You can find more information on this topic here.

2.Use the Window > New Window command to show the same image in two document windows. This command opens an additional window with the same image. You can drag the second image window to another document group, e.g. to show two parts of the image with high resolution simultaneously.

With this command, the document will only be shown twice, not loaded twice.

You can find more information on working with document groups here.
