User Rights

Use the Tools > User Rights... command to define user rights for your software. The user rights determine the software functions each user can make use of. A user is anyone who can log on to the operating system and start the software.

Numerous settings on the user interface or in the dialog boxes, will be automatically saved together with your operating system's user profile and will not be affected by the user's rights. In this way, different users will automatically find the user interface just as they left it when last working with the software.

Employ the user rights, for instance, as a protection against having the configuration of devices inadvertently overwritten. In this case there are three roles. Administrator, Power User and Standard User. Each of these roles can in each case use different functions. The functions that are linked to each role are predefined and cannot be changed.

User Administration

When you start the software as an administrator, you will have the following possibilities in the User Rights dialog box:

1.You can click the Add... button to register a new user. To do this, you must know the user's login name.

2.You can remove a user by selecting his name and clicking the Remove button.

Note: You can also delete the Default User! Then only you, as administrator, can start your software.

3.You can allocate a user another role by selecting his name and clicking the Properties... button.
