Manage Layout

Your software offers, depending on the task set, several layouts in which you will find different toolbars and tool windows in various arrangements.

Use the View > Layout > Manage Layout... command to edit your own layouts.

Description of dialog box

Available sets

The list of dialog boxes contains all of the layouts that have been defined, and that are available to you. In the list you'll also find some information about the individual layouts, e.g., the description that was entered when a new layout was set up.

In front of every layout you'll find the Visible check box. This check box is selected for all of the layouts CheckBox_selected that can be chosen in your software. These layouts appear, e.g., in the list of layouts that you can open by using the View > Layout command.

Clear the check box in front of each of the layouts you want to hide in the user interface. You can then display this layout again at any time.

Note: Its not possible to have more than six layouts displayed at one time. If more than six layouts have been defined you'll have to hide some of them.

Some layouts are predefined. Predefined layouts can't be deleted. These layouts are identified in the list of existing layouts by a lock icon schloss.

This icon icon_user_palette denotes that these are the layouts that you have yourself defined and that you haven't made available to all users.

This icon icon_standard_palette denotes that these layouts are available to all of the users of your software.

Editing existing layouts

In the dialog box's list, choose the layout that you want to edit. With user defined layouts, in the Name, Description and Access fields, buttons with which you can edit the fields will now appear.

You can change the order of the layouts in the list of the layouts, to, e.g., give you quick access to a layout that is used very often. Use, e.g., the View > Layout command to open a list containing all of the available layouts.

bb_copy Duplicating a layout

Click this button to duplicate an already existing layout.

bb_delete Deleting a layout

You can delete a layout that you no longer require. Choose a user-defined layout that has already been saved, then click the button with the red cross.

Predefined layouts can't be deleted.

Renaming a layout

Click the button with the three points [...] in the Name field to be able to edit the layout's name.

Predefined layouts can't be renamed.

Viewing and changing the description

Click the button with the three points [...] in the Description field to be able to see the selected layout's description. Now, you can add to, or edit the description.  

Predefined layouts don't have a description.

Changing the access settings

Click the arrow button in the Access field to open a menu with the two options Private and Public. Select the setting you want.

Predefined layouts are always available for all users.

Saving layouts that have been changed

Click the Close button to save the changes that have been made.
