bb_FFT_RotateFFT Automatically rotating an FT image

Click the Autorotation button to rotate a Fourier image backwards and forwards by 90°. You can find this button on the Fourier Transform tool window's toolbar.

Note: The button is only active when the Fourier image was created using the FT on ROI button and the ROI is square.

Uses for Autorotation on FT images

The autorotation shows very clearly whether the intensity distribution in the Fourier image is symmetrical or not. You can use this function to correct the astigmatism of your transmission electron microscope, for example.

Automatically rotating an FT image

1.In the Fourier Transform tool window, select a Fourier image that has a ROI.

If a gray-value image is selected in the Fourier Transform tool window, the button will be shown in gray and is not available for use.

2.Click the Autorotation bb_FFT_RotateFFT button to rotate the image by 90°.

The button will appear clicked. You can recognize this status by the button's colored background.

The Fourier image is automatically rotated backwards and forwards.

Note: You can only autorotate an FT image if the FT image is linked with the source image. When you load a saved FT image or break the link, the function is no longer available.

Stopping the rotation

To stop the rotation of the Fourier image, click the active Autorotation bb_FFT_RotateFFT_on button again.
