Use the Process > Enhancements > Background Subtraction... command to improve the signal to noise ratio in the image. The dialog box that is opened when you use an image processing operation is made up in the same way for every operation. Click here to switch to a description of this dialog box. SettingsROISelect the ROI option if you want to manually determine the background intensity in the image. You define a rectangular section on the image. Your software will then calculate the mean intensity within this image segment, and subtract this value. ConstantTo specify a fixed value for the background intensity, select the Constant option. This value will then be subtracted from the active image. Enter the desired value directly in the field or use the slide control to set it. Select ImageSelect the Select Image option to have an image subtracted from the active image that only shows the background intensity without an object. An image can be used for the background subtraction when the following conditions have been fulfilled. •The correction image must have the same properties (image type, image size), as the source image. •The correction image must have been loaded. The Select Image option will only then be available, when at least two images with the same properties have been loaded. You can then select the correction image you want from the picklist. 3970 05032013 |
