Restrictions when function parameters are being recorded |

Numerous commands in your software open dialog boxes in which you can make certain settings. The current settings in a dialog box will also be, by default, shown in the macro. However, some restrictions apply when function parameters are being recorded. Function parameters in tool windowsYou can make a number of settings in a tool window. Not all of these settings will be saved in a macro. Example: [Snapshot] The Camera Control tool window offers you numerous settings for the image acquisition. For instance, you can decide between using an automatic or a manual exposure time. When you click the Snap button in the Camera Control tool window, during the recording of a macro, the [Snapshot] function will appear in the Macro Manager tool window's list of functions. However, when the macro is being run, the current settings for the image acquisition will be used, not the options set when the macro was being recorded. Therefore, when you use the [Snapshot] function in your macros, you should check your acquisitions' image quality before you start the macro. In certain cases, it makes sense to inform the user by means of a message, that he should check the image quality. You will find a step-by-step instruction on how to insert a user message here. Alternatively, you can the Camera Control tool window to save the settings you want in a parameter set. In the macro, you can load this parameter set before you acquire an image. Example: Microscope Control tool window In the Microscope Control tool window, you can set the microscope magnification, for example. If you change a setting in the Microscope Control tool window while recording a macro, this change will not be recorded. When the macro is being run, the current settings in the Microscope Control tool window will be used, not the options set when the macro was being recorded. Functions parameters in the program optionsA lot of the commands in your software take general software settings into account, that you can change by using the Tools > Options... command. Not all of the settings in the Options dialog box will be saved in a macro. Example: Info Stamp Use the View > Info Stamp command to have some information on the current image displayed in the image window. You can specify whether the info stamp is to be displayed in the image window, or not. The current settings made in the Tools > Options > Info-Stamp > Properties dialog box determine what kind of information is shown. You can't record these settings in the Info Stamp > Properties dialog box in a macro. When you play back a macro that contains the [Info Stamp - on] function, a variety of different information can, therefore, be displayed in the image window. 00347 13042013 |
