Description of dialog box

Print preview

In the middle of the dialog box, in the Preview group, you'll see a true-to-scale preview of the print page. The size of the page (width x height) as set for the printer, will be shown below this layout.

Setting the margins

You can determine where the edges and the header/footer are going to be, in the Margins group. If you activate one of the fields, two arrows will indicate a line representing this border or header/footer (in preview).

Note: You can only extend the margins until they reach the borders of the current image section. To extend the margins further, to begin with, select the Fit image size to > Width/Height option , and reduce the print area in size in the Width and Height fields.

Centering the image

In the Center on page group, you can center the image between the edges of the print area. By default, both check boxes are selected.

Select the Horizontal (Vertical) check box to center the image horizontally/vertically in the print area. If you clear one of these check boxes, the image will be moved to the (upper) left-hand edge of the print area.

Fitting the image size

In the Fit image size to group, you can select the Page borders option, to automatically adapt the image size to that of the print area. The image will then be printed in the maximum possible size. Should the Fixed image ratio check box not be selected, the image will be made to fill out the complete print area, which could possibly distort it.

Select the Width/Height option to be able to determine the image size via the Width and Height fields.

Select the Fixed image ratio check box to retain the length/width ratio of the image when printing it. Changing the width of the image will automatically lead to a proportional change in its length, and vice versa, so that the image will be printed without any distortion.

Select the Magnification option, to use the Magnification field in the Print area group to determine the size of your image. The Fixed image ratio check box will be selected automatically.

This option is only available if your software can read a magnification value out of the image information.

Original size

The Original size group displays the actual image size – width x height - in the units of the X/Y image calibration.
