|
Use this dialog box to register various file formats for images and other types of documents as formats for use with this program within MS-Windows. In MS-Windows Explorer, you can load files with a registered file format into your software with a doubleclick. To open the Register File Types dialog box, use the Tools > Options... command. Select the Environment > General entry in the tree view, and click the Register File Types... button. Description of dialog boxThe dialog box lists all file formats that are supported. Depending on which software version you have, and the add-ins that have been loaded, the selection of file formats can vary. You can sort the list's columns in ascending or descending alphabetical order. To do this, click the desired column header either once or twice. The File type column contains the check box, the document symbol and the file name extension of a file format. Select the check box beside a file format to register it for your software in MS-Windows. When you open the dialog box it will show you the currently registered file format. No file formats will be automatically registered during installation. Clear this check box to remove the registration of a file format. Your software will have memorized with which application program the file format was previously linked. The file format will then once more be registered under the previous application program, so long as it is still located under the old path in your PC. The Name column contains the names of the file formats. The Document column contains a file format's document type, e.g., "Image". There are some file formats that are not assigned to a document type, e.g., configuration files. The Registered to column contains the application program under which a file format is registered in MS-Windows. As soon as you select the check box next to a file format, the name of your software will appear there. The Path column contains the path name for the application program for which a file format is registered. As soon as you select the check box next to a file format, the path name of your software will appear there. Click the Default button to have all of the file formats that with absolute certainty belong to your software selected. It is recommended to link these file formats with your software, since they can only be opened with it. Click the Select All button to register all of the listed file formats. Click the Deselect All button to clear the check box for all of the file formats that have already been registered with your software. Then no file format is registered for your software anymore. Registrations for other application programs will not be canceled by this action. 1515 14032011 |
