Status Bar

Use the View > Status Bar command to make the status bar appear or disappear.

A check in front of the command's name shows that the status bar is on display. When you then use the command, the status bar will disappear. In this way you enlarge the area available for the examination of images and documents.

Whether the status bar is shown or hidden will be saved in the layout. These means that you can, if you wish, have the status bar displayed in one layout and hidden in another. The View > Layout > Reset Current Layout command makes the status bar automatically reappear in layouts where this has been predefined.

Data in the status bar

The status bar provides you with a great deal of data.

Short descriptions

The status bar contains a short description of every menu command and every button. Simply move the mouse pointer over the command or button for this information.

Active image's zoom factor

The status bar shows the active image's zoom factor Status_Zoom.

When the active image has been calibrated, the image's magnification will additionally be shown on your monitor in braces.

Mouse pointer's position

The status bar shows the position of your mouse pointer on an image Status_Position. The position will be measured from the top left-hand corner of the image.

Usually the unit is a unit of length and is derived from the image's X/Y-calibration data.

Intensity value

The field with the pipette status_pipette shows the color value, or gray value, under the position where the mouse pointer is located on an image.

Progress bar

When a process is in progress you will see a progress bar in the status bar Verlaufsanzeige. The progress bar shows you when it is expected that the process will have been completed. The progress bar always contains the Cancel button too. You can abort every process at any time by clicking the Cancel button.

Movie recording is an example of a process. When you are recording a movie, for example, the status bar displays how many images have already been recorded.
