Protect document

Use the Edit > Protect command to protect any document that has been loaded into the document window from being inadvertently edited or processed. As a rule, the document is an image. Your software also supports other document types. You will find an overview of all of the document types that are supported here.

What does the write protection mean where a document is concerned?

A document that is write protected can no longer be changed. Commands that change a document will no longer be made available for a write protected document. Where a write protected image is concerned, this applies, for example, to all of the commands in the Process menu. As well as that, it is no longer possible to draw, or to make measurements, on images that are write protected.

In the document bar, documents that are write protected will be identified by a lock icon .

Canceling write protection

You cancel the write protection by once more accessing the Edit > Protect command.
