Description of dialog box

Every command your software offers is allocated to a functions group. Select a specific group of commands from the Category list. This will limit the amount of commands offered to a reasonable number. Select the All Commands entry to see all the commands that are available. You can find this entry right at the top of the list.

Select the command you want to link to a keyboard shortcut from the Commands list.

You will see a description of the command you have selected in the Description field.

The shortcut that is currently linked to this command will be shown in the Current keyboard shortcuts field. Should currently no shortcut be linked to this command, the field will be empty.

Click once in the Press new keyboard shortcut field. Use your keyboard to enter the shortcut that you want to link to the command you have selected. For instance, press the [F10] key on your keyboard.

The Assigned to field will appear. There, you can see whether or not this shortcut has already been assigned. It is not possible to assign a keyboard shortcut twice.

Should you have mistyped, or want to change your mind and choose another shortcut, click the [Esc] key to delete the shortcut in the Press new keyboard shortcut field.

Click the Assign button to assign the selected shortcut to the command. If you do not explicitly delete the link to existing shortcuts, the command will remain linked to them. The new shortcut will be inserted into the list.

In the Current Keys list, select a keyboard shortcut that has been assigned to a command. Then click the Remove button to cancel the previously defined link between the selected command and this keyboard shortcut.
