bb_crosshair Cross Hair

Use the View > Cross Hair command or the [Alt + F6] keyboard shortcut to make a cross hair appear or disappear in the image window. The cross hair always shows where the middle of the image is.

Use the cross hair, e.g., in the live-mode, to position your sample for the acquisition.

Where will the cross hair be displayed?

Whether or not the cross hair is displayed, is a global setting valid for all images that are loaded. You cannot have the cross hair shown only for certain images.

The cross hair is also shown in the live-mode.

The cross hair is part of the image window and not of the image. For this reason it won't be saved, printed, or copied to the clipboard, when the image is.

What does the cross hair look like?

Should you want to change the cross hair's appearance, use the Tools > Options > Cross Hair > Format command. Here, you can, for example, change the line width and color of the cross hair.

How large the cross hair looks in the image window, doesn't depend on the size of the image, nor on the image's current zoom factor. For this reason, as long as the middle of the image can be seen in the image window, the cross hair remains clearly visible, even for very large images or for extreme zoom factors.
